The flexible design
of the MCS makes it suitable for use in many applications. They
can be classified according to the measurement principles used,
the fields of use or the materials to be analyzed. The MCS modules
using cross section converter as optical inputs offer specific
benefits in practical work. lt is very easy to connect other
fibres using the SMA connector.
In addition, the round input offers considerably better conditions
for most illumination situations than the classic entrance slit.
However, the most important asset of the MCS modules is their
compactness, light sensitivity and insensitivity to external
influences. The module consist of a spectrometer body made of
patented ceramic structure with an aberration corrected concave
grating, a fiber cross section converter or a mechanical slit
as optical entrance and a diode array. All components cemented
to spectrometer body.
