Q: Do I need Operating Electronics for my Spectrometer?
A: In many cases, a spectrometer instrument or a spectrometer system contains all electronics required for operation. tec5 OEM components are designed for use with OEM spectrometer modules, often called spectral sensors, or bare photodiode arrays.

Q: Why not use a standard data acquisition card or a frame-grabber?
A: Usually, electronics specifically designed for the purpose of reading
photodiode arrays for spectroscopy offer relevant features not available
in data acquisition cards designed for different purposes. Primarily,
the application requires accurate and versatile integration timing and
very high dynamic range.

Q: Why not design our own electronics for our instrument?
A: There are some advantages of in-house designed electronics. However, total cost of an in-house design should be considered and compared to a solution involving OEM electronics modules. For small or medium quantities, advantages of a tec5-based solution are mainly:
